Fiber laser cutting gas: choice of nitrogen, oxygen, compressed air and mixed gas

Nitrogen is an inert gas, which is very helpful for stainless steel cutting. It is mainly used for cutting stainless steel and thin carbon steel
Oxygen is a combustion-supporting gas, which is mainly used for thick carbon steel plates. The high heat generated by the combustion of oxygen and carbon can fully cut
Compressed air is produced after air is compressed. Nitrogen accounts for 79% and oxygen accounts for 21%. There will be obvious residue for cutting carbon steel with a thickness of about 20mm.
Mixed gas is a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen in proportion, 90% nitrogen and 10% oxygen. It can process carbon steel with the limit of air cutting thickness with high quality, because 10% oxygen can just help the combustion and melting of metal residues
Mixed gas is used in laser cutting machines above 12KW. Compared with the cost of air compressor and mixed gas, mixed gas may have more advantages. The cutting pressure only needs about 3Bar
